Reporter: My fondest story about you was hearing Fischerspooner’s ‘Emerge’ on your ‘World Service’ LP. It was the first time I had ever heard it and obviously it was the start of the new Electro movement. Is there a story behind that track for you?

Dave Clarke: I love the music at the time, but when I saw their performance by chance on Top Of The Pops, I realised that I made a big mistake getting involved. One of them said thanks six years later, but I had seen them many times before and without me and Bugged Out (label) they would have never broken in the UK and would never have got a deal. Art school seems to make arrogant turds…fucking hate all that Warhol idolatory…he was a twat too and Lou Reed…but hey let’s leave the NY arty farty scene to lick their own buttocks.
